This is a new build with air source heat pump and underfloor water heating. There is no gas. The house was built to a high specification with cavity wall insulation and an insulated inner layer. We have added solar panels and battery storage. There are thermostats in each room.
The garden includes compost bins, a water butt, a greenhouse and a vegetable plot, including fruit trees and soft fruit.

This is an Ashford Homes development which has built-in underfloor heating and a thermostat in every room and a hot water cylinder, all powered by an 11kW max output air source heat pump. An app can be used to control everything. The rooms take an hour or two to warm up from cold but they hold heat well and on the rare occasions when fast heat is needed an electric heater can be used.
The solar system is 3.9kWp (10x390W panels) and a Growatt inverter and 3kWh battery installed on the garage by Infinity Renewables as part of the Swindon and Wiltshire ‘Solar Together’ scheme. There is scope for more panels on the main roof although unlike some other houses in the development this is not the ideal shape for solar.
